On September 4, 2002, Virginia-Pacific Corporation filed a chapter 11 petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, assigned case No. 02-67569. Thereafter, the case was converted to chapter 7 and a trustee was charged with winding down the estate for the benefit of creditors. Oak Point Partners, Inc. acquired the remnant assets of the Virginia-Pacific Corporation Bankruptcy Estate in January 2012.
