Who Owns Universal Cooperatives, Inc. Remnant Assets?
Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the Universal Cooperatives, Inc. Creditors’ Liquidating Trust (Universal Cooperatives) in December 2017.
On May 11, 2014, Universal Cooperatives and certain of its affiliates filed voluntary petitions under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, jointly administered under Case No. 14-11187. On September 3, 2015, the Court entered an order confirming the Debtors’ Amended Jointly Administratively Consolidated Plans of Liquidation, pursuant to which the Trust was created and vested with the power and duty to administer the remaining assets of the Debtors. Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the Universal Cooperatives Creditors’ Liquidating Trust in December 2017.
