Who Owns SM Liquidating Trust Remnant Assets?
Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the SM Liquidating Trust (SkyMall, LLC) in January 2018.
On January 22, 2015, SkyMall, LLC and its affiliates filed voluntary petitions under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona, jointly administered under Case No. 15-00679. On August 26, 2015, the Court entered an order confirming the Debtors’ Amended Joint Plan of Liquidation, pursuant to which the Trust was created and vested with the power and duty to administer the remaining assets of the Debtors. Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the SM Liquidating Trust in January 2018.
