Who Owns ReCellular, Inc. Remnant Assets?
Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the ReCellular, Inc. Receivership Estate (ReCellular) in November 2017.
On November 6, 2013, an action was brought against ReCellular in the Michigan State Circuit Court for the County of Washtenaw, assigned Case No. 13-1088. On November 7, 2013, the Court entered the Stipulated Order Appointing Receiver in the Case, pursuant to which the Receiver took possession of all of the Defendant’s assets for the purpose of preserving, protecting and liquidating such assets. Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of the ReCellular Receivership Estate in November 2017.

Founded in 1991, ReCellular was a recycler and reseller of used cell phones, portable electronics, and their accessories. The company could process over half a million phones every month and 60% of the collected phones were reprogrammed. The newly fixed phones then ended up with domestic re-sellers or in developing countries. Phones that could not be restored were passed on to be dismantled and recycled. At its peak, the company employed over 400 people.
