Oak Point Partners, Inc. acquired the remnant assets of the National Steel Corporation, et al. Bankruptcy Estate in October 2013.
On March 6, 2002, National Steel Corporation and its related entities (“National Steel”) filed a chapter 11 petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, assigned case No. 02-08699. Pursuant to the chapter 11 plan, an officer was appointed to administer the estate’s remaining assets. Oak Point Partners acquired the remnant assets of National Steel in October 2013.
Formed in 1929, National Steel was one of the largest integrated steel producers in the United States.
National Steel operated under several trade names including Delray Connecting Railroad Company, Granite City Steel Company and Midwest Steel Corporation.
The former headquarters of National Steel was located in Mishawaka, IN.
