On July 25, 2003, Bonus Stores, Inc. and its related entities (“Bonus Stores”) filed a chapter 11 petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, assigned Case No. 03-12284. A liquidating plan was confirmed, which appointed a liquidating agent to wind down the bankruptcy estate for the benefit of creditors. Oak Point Partners, Inc. acquired the remnant assets of Bonus Stores in March 2010.

Bonus Stores operated approximately 335 general merchandise stores in the Southern United States.

Bonus Stores also operated under several trade names including Bill's Dollar Store, Bonus Dollar Stores and WE Walker Stores Inc.

The former headquarters of Blue Water Automotive was located in Marysville, MI.
