On September 23, 2008, AFY filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, jointly administered under Case No. 08-12175. Thereafter, the case was converted to chapter 7, and a trustee was appointed to liquidate the remaining assets of the estate. Oak Point Partners, Inc. acquired the remnant assets of the AFY Holding Company and American Fibers and Yarns Company Bankruptcy Estate in November 2016.
American Fibers and Yarns was a manufacturer of solution-dyed polypropylene yarns used in woven fabric for commercial office buildings and hospitality and healthcare facilities.
AFY Holding operated as American Fibers and Yarns Company.
The former headquarters of American Fibers and Yarns was located in Chapel Hill, NC.
